When one takes two of Canada's finest and versatile vocalists and puts them onstage with Canada's top musical director and has them singing favorite duets magic happens. All three will also have new solo albums released by spring 2022.
Mark Riley
African Nova Scotian Music Association (ANSMA) award winner for 2020 Rising Star,vocal and guitarist Mark Riley pre-Covid was one of the busiest Nova Scotian musicians .Singing and composing songs for his many projects in R&B ,pop but equally versatile singing as a soloist with the Halifax Mass Choir.
Mark harmonizes duets in this project with MaryLou accompanied by the keyboard orchestrations of musical director John Ebata.
MaryLou Sicoly
A versatile talent, including classical pianist, Mary Lou has sung with everything from big bands to small ensembles as well as solo performances from classical to world to jazz styles. Equally adept in the recording studio she has written and recorded for children’s albums and jingles where she received her Juno award nominations. Mary Lou has toured throughout the world for festivals in varied musical styles and to exotic places such as performing in the Arctic with Strings Across the Sky. With all sizes of orchestra or simple piano, she brings an energetic, world-class musical presentation to every performance.
John Ebata
His talents are Versatile with a capital V. He is respected in all the extended categories of musician, song writer, producer, musical director, arranger and recording engineer. Equally versatile in all musical styles from jazz to world folk songs to rock and R&B. He has become the first choice accompanist of many great singer songwriters and acclaimed to be of the very top Canadian piano-keyboardists and continues to work with artists from all parts of the world.
Recording engineer for Juno nominated Jazz albums , Black Music composer’s award for song of the year and performed and recorded with the likes of Buffy St. Marie, Morris Albert , Oscar Peterson, Jack Lenz, Waleed Abdulhamid, Smith & Dragoman , Lucy Shropshire, MaryLou Sicoly, Roland Grant, Sarah Pound,,..
He continues to record and perform as the ultimately versatile player in any musical genre playing instruments from grand piano to synthesizer technology on his 288 key circular PianoArc keyboard,he is equally at ease from the acoustic to the electric music world.
